For the season when everything has felt like too much for too long.
Twenty minutes to find out if we're a fit.
Naomi Ortega, LCSW — fourteen years in practice, and currently taking new clients.
A discovery call is twenty minutes on the phone or over video — no forms to fill out beforehand, no commitment either way. You tell me a little about what's been heavy lately: the specific thing that made you start looking, or the general weight that's been building for a while. I'll explain how I actually work session to session, what the first few months tend to look like, and answer anything you're wondering about. By the end, we'll both know if this is worth continuing — and if it isn't a fit, I'll say so plainly, and where I can, point you toward someone who might be.
This might be for you
This is for the person who's been white-knuckling through a stretch that's gone on longer than it should have — running on the same three hours of sleep, saying "I'm fine" out of habit, aware that the burnout stopped being a phase a while ago. You don't need a crisis to start. You need somewhere to put it down.
This probably isn't
This isn't a fit if you're in the middle of a same-day crisis and need support right now, you're looking for a couples or family therapist, or you need a specific clinical approach I don't practice. I work one-to-one. If any of that's true, I'll say so plainly on the call, and point you toward someone better placed to help.
The call. Twenty minutes, no charge, just the two of you talking honestly about what's going on.
If it's a fit. We schedule a first full session — fifty minutes, in more depth, usually within the week.
The ongoing work. Weekly or every other week, for as long as it's useful — not a fixed number of sessions.
"The call was the easiest twenty minutes of the whole process. I didn't have to explain everything — I just had to show up."
The discovery call itself is free — twenty minutes, no charge either way.
All you need is a quiet space and a phone or laptop. There's nothing to prepare beforehand.
If we continue after that, sessions run fifty minutes and are billed per session. Rates and any insurance questions are covered on the call itself, not before it.
